Through the Teaching as Profession program of study I have had the opportunity to participate in job shadowing and field experiences in order to get hands on experience in my desired grade and subject area. Here are a few of the things I have participated in while enrolled in these classes:
- Job shadowing at Algood Elementary School for 3rd grade during the fall semester of 2016 (1 day)
- Field experience at Prescott South Elementary School for 1st grade during the spring semester of 2018 (1 day)
- Field experience at Jere Whitson Elementary School for 1st grade during the spring semester of 2019 (3 days)
- Assisted in a field day at Park View Elementary School during the spring semester of 2019 (1 day)
- Currently enrolled in a practicum based class that allows me to work at Jere Whitson Elementary School for multiple days throughout the week.
- Currently volunteering in a child care program at Life Church entitled Faith Factory for one day a week
- Currently tutoring for multiple days a week
