Hi everyone!! My name is Megan Jennings and I am an aspiring first grade teacher! For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be an educator, it’s been my lifelong goal. Now, my dreams are coming true as I am narrowing my focus to primary grade levels and, specifically, first grade. As a senior at Cookeville High School in Tennessee, there have been numerous opportunities and classes I have taken to help me pursue my dream career. I will be utilizing this blog to reflect on experiences and ideas throughout the course of the 2019-2020 school year in the level four Teaching as a Profession class. Hopefully this blog will inspire others just as I have been inspired and give me a creative outlet to share my passion with future teachers!
Aside from being beyond passionate about education, I am involved in FCCLA at my high school. It is this organization that has made me into who I am today and helped me discover my true self. I have had several opportunities to gain leadership skills, compete at the national level every year, meet my very best friends, and give back to the community through various service projects. I am also apart of the marching and concert band where I play piccolo and flute. One of my talents is music and band allows me to challenge my skills and improve them to become the best player I can be. I am extremely family oriented and I love to spend time adventuring with them. I like to say that I have the best friends in the whole world, which I definitely do, and I absolutely love laughing and making memories with them. Not only are my friends and family my biggest supporters, but they make my life a lot more enjoyable.
